Old and New… no matter

Old and New… no matter

Our recent travels through northwest Idaho, western Washington, and south central Washington brought us to a variety of different church buildings and congregations. Some churches are old and nostalgic and some were new and technologically savvy, but one thing remained the same—the need for TRUTH. Everyone, whether old or young, rich or poor, educated or uneducated, living in a small rural community or residing in the big city, needs to know the love of God and...

Costa Rican Creation Tour Continues

Costa Rican Creation Tour Continues

In one of my previous blogs about the Costa Rican Discover Creation Tour, I left you in the misty rain of a cloud forest.  Wet, yes. However, it was an experience our intrepid explorers actually really enjoyed. The rain forests of this major ecosystem need the rain to remain so beautifully green and awe-inspiring.   Afterwards we took in the National Museum, where we were able to see and experience aspects of the country’s history…...

I want to continue my recollection from recent tours… started in my last blog.  Our Idaho tour began Thursday evening (March 27th) with a night of teaching for the AWANA group at Cambridge Bible Church. They had been studying the beginning of Genesis and wanted to continue the theme, so it was very fitting to use my teaching on Genesis chapter 3.  I only had to make a few alterations of my usual program for these young people, and then I was off teaching.  The...

MUSEUMS AND MEMORIES

MUSEUMS AND MEMORIES

Thinking back on a recent seminar tour, the tour I’m remembering began (March 10th) with a homeschool conference in the Salt Lake City, UT area. The beginning event was a museum tour of the North American Museum of Ancient Life in Lehi, UT.  Rich gave a tour and offered a creation perspective on the museum’s exhibits.  It was very well attended, over 70 students and adults, with all the participants attentively listening during the 2 hour presentation....

It’s that time again … one recently published, and thus, time to write another Kids Think & Believe Too (aka KT&B) newsletter. Every 2 months, AOI publishes an adult newsletter and a children’s newsletter which is sent out FREE to just under nine thousand subscribers. Dave and Mary Jo Nutting are the main writers for the adult Think & Believe newsletter, with Brian Mariani contributing, as well as other occasional guest writers . Once the drafted articles...

Bunk Beds and Bible Conference!

We spent about ten days, a few weeks ago, at Cornerstone Bible Institute in Hot Springs, SD.  Rich was the speaker for the first week of their annual Bible Conference. During the 19 hours of regularly scheduled time, and an additional two hours of optional teaching (always looking for a little more time), he worked through Genesis chapters one to three, plus three other sessions – which included:  The Star of Bethlehem, The Creation of Angels, and Evolution,...

Teaching on the 2017 Costa Rica Tour took many forms — on the bus, in the field, and in several evening lectures, and even within these formats they differed to a degree. To the right, Mary Jo is answering a common evolutionary taunt. She is explaining how you can get all the various skin colors from blackest black to whitest white in a single family… simply starting with parents of medium skin color. That coupled with the dispersion at the Tower of Babel...

A STEP INTO TEXAS HISTORY

A STEP INTO TEXAS HISTORY

This past January, during our winter Discover Creation tour through New Mexico, Texas and Oklahoma, Marilyn and I were able to “step back” into part of Texas history when we had the opportunity to teach at the Independence Baptist Church located in the small town of Independence, Texas. The Independence Baptist Church was organized in August 1839. Since it was begun, the church has never ceased to meet, making it the oldest continuously serving Baptist church in...

Costa Rica Creation Tour Underway

Mary Jo & I have been leading a Creation Tour of Costa Rica for an adventurous group (really not that strenuous… but exciting). This is a wonderful place to teach and experience design features in nature… as well as a marvelous place to appreciate our Creator God and give him thanks! (See Romans 1!) At the beginning of the tour, we were in a cloud forest at the top of a volcano, about 8500 feet. Unfortunately, we couldn’t see into the crater due...

PSALM 92:1-2 – “It is good to give thanks to the Lord,  And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High;  To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning,  And Your faithfulness every night.”   We are so thankful for the Lord’s lovingkindness and faithfulness as we recently concluded another seminar tour (we are heading out today for another tour). It was a very good trip, not unlike many, many before it, but it was a bit busier than most.  At our first...

A few days ago we celebrated my Mother’s 90th birthday. My wife, two daughters, sister and a few friends intended to pull off this event as a surprise party. However, my mother is a traveler … she makes several major trips a year (recently returning from a 2 week cruise through the Panama Canal). We decided we probably should let her know what was being planned to insure that she would be here for her own party! Also, she is a very social lady – Church, Genealogy...

Ministry in El Salvador

Ministry in El Salvador

Last week, I had the opportunity to speak at several churches (with groups ranging from 65 to around 200), a university with 25 in attendance, a public school group of about 50 teens and a Christian school of an estimated 125 to 150 high school and middle school students. All of this was in the country of El Salvador. (The sign at the right says: Dave Nutting Welcome to the City of God.) The churches had special services on Saturday night, and Sunday morning as well...
