Information Regarding Discover Creation Training Opportunity

(Spring 2022)

Location and Dates:

• Zoom Classes: Wednesdays, January 26-Mar 9, 6:00 pm (Open enrollment. Registration required.)
• On-site Training Week in Grand Junction, CO: April 4-8, 2022 (Application required.)
• Creation Tour of Arches and Canyonlands National Parks (Optional. Additional Cost.)

Cost of Training:

• Cost of training is on a donation basis. We do not wish to turn people away on a financial basis. Nevertheless, these Training Weeks involve a significant amount of staff time, as well as other expenses. Please prayerfully consider what you should give.
• Field Trip / Tour Expenses: You will be responsible for paying your own field trip costs and entrance fees. If you have a current National Park / Interagency Pass, be sure to bring it with you!

Transportation, Housing, & Meals:

• You will need to book your own motel reservation and provide for your own meals and transportation. AOI will provide 2 break time snacks, sandwich and salad fixings for lunch at a cost of $5/day. If you prefer, you may choose one of the many restaurants/fast food places not far from our office.

Basic Schedule:

• Training is scheduled from 9-5 each day of the week, with homework in the evenings.
• Mornings: primarily content oriented – studying the main scientific and Biblical evidences
• Afternoons: field trips, teaching methods, practice teaching, ministry outreach, etc.

Training Staff:

• Dave and Mary Jo Nutting, founders and directors of AOI, joined by AOI Staff: Brian Mariani, Lanny & Marilyn Johnson, et. al.

Training Qualifications:  We are looking for people with the following qualifications:

• A follower of the Lord Jesus Christ with an active desire to love, grow, and serve Him
• A strong desire to learn more about creation to be able to share with others
• An interest and ability to learn Biblical and basic scientific evidences
• A willing spirit and a teachable heart
• A willingness to commit time and effort to the “up-front” assignments

Up-Front Assignments: (To be completed before Training Week begins.)

• Join the Zoom classes online or watch replays
• Fill out the Application for Training Week.
• Prepare a 15-minute teaching segment to present to the class.
• Compile a list of creation/evolution books & videos/DVDs in your personal library.
• Pray for the training week – for your trainers, for your involvement, for other participants.
• We will send you more detailed information when you are accepted for training.
