Let us follow solid evidence!

Check out this Evidence for the Earth’s Shape:

“Looking across Lake Ontario to Toronto from Olcott NY, 63 km (39 miles) away, only about ⅔ of the CN Tower is visible. However, about ⅓ of the tower, as well as the much smaller buildings next to it, are hidden by the earth’s curvature. Now that we have good telescopes, we can see this more clearly. If we zoom in on a ship that has half-disappeared below the horizon, we don’t see more of the ship, but just a bigger image of what we see with the naked eye. Likewise, if there is a clear field of view, we can see the top-parts of tall buildings whose bases are below the horizon (above). If the earth were flat, the bases would be as visible as the tops.”

  1. Good, simple explanation for those who have been fooled by flat-earth claims. Thank you! Also please add the fact that the Bible mentions Compass-directions such as “North” 160 times in the NIV version (146 times in the King James); such as Psalm 107: “Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story — those he redeemed from the hand of the foe, those he gathered from the lands, from east and west, from north and south”. A flat DISK has no north-south etc, only a GLOBE has compass directions. So Scripture told us first… if we read it and THINK clearly, as we read. Science later confirmed the globe shaped Earth. 🙂

    • Great point David! Thanks for adding that!

    • “So Scripture told us first”
      > No, information has been found in Scripture.
Most of the Bible comes from earlier sources.
None of it came from God.
“North” is where lodestone pointed, away from the Sun’s path.

      • Richard, could you explain more?

And that view on Scripture can be dangerous. Let us uphold the authority of God’s Word.

2 Tim 3:16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
