Order of Fossils

“The general order in which fossils are found also supports the Flood model, as it reflects the stages of burial during the year of the Flood. For example, bottom-dwelling sea creatures were buried first, then fish, followed by the slow-moving land animals unable to flee to higher ground. The larger animals were buried late in the Flood as they continued to move to higher ground until unable to escape the rising Flood waters.”

“For preservation to occur through fossilization, the organism must be buried rapidly and catastrophically, thus protecting it from decay…decay and scavengers perform their roles in the ecosystem very quickly, rarely leaving anything to be fossilized.”

Quote from Tom Vail, Mike Oard, Dennis Bokovoy, John Hergenrather, Your Guide to the Grand Canyon: A Different Perspective, p. 163-164.
