Geology and the Life of a Soldier
Derek Ager wrote a book called the Nature of the Stratigraphic Record. The book talked about how rock layers are very widespread (in some cases trans-oceanic) and showed tremendous evidence of catastrophism. One eye-opening quote was, "The history of any one part of the world is like the life of a soldier. It consists of long periods of boredom and short periods of terror." He said it was those short periods of terror that was responsible for the bulk of the geologic record. Although he is not a creationist, his observations are certainly consistent with Noah’s Flood.
