In the last year, often I have heard people say “I don’t believe in God because there isn’t enough evidence (or there is no evidence).”
There might be different ways of approaching that statement, one might be to simply say: If I gave you evidence, would you seriously consider God?
Another key aspect is to define what is meant by the word “evidence”.
I asked someone recently, “what evidence do you need for a supernatural entity?” He said he need some physical evidence. I pushed (graciously) and suggested “what, like a book or golden tablets or something?”
I have not been able to follow up with this young man, but it made him think. I hope and pray that he is still thinking…and that he maybe has dug into the evidence…and that he has accepted Jesus, the only Way, the Truth and the Life.
