“We need investigation, not arbitrary exclusion of what is scientifically unfashionable. In particular, Christian colleges, funding sources, and fellow scientists should not excommunicate young-earthers. We should encourage debate among all those who see the Bible as God’s Word but have differences in interpretation.”
-Marvin Olasky, Riding the rapids, World Magazine, http://www.worldmag.com/2010/08/riding_the_rapids/page4
This quote surely describes the need for honest investigation and debate, which is highly important today. If not only students, but people in general learn both interpretations of the same evidence, ultimately they would be learning more – thus disproving the argument that teaching Creation is based on ignorance. Teaching Creation does not inhibit, but rather encourages scientific progress and does not lead to a deficiency in scientific understanding.
