In the past, many of us at AOI believed the question of life's origin could be answered simply by observing natural processes in the world. Although most of us were schooled in evolution, we examined our beliefs and assumptions and came to the conclusion that true science does not support the claims of evolution. Instead, the facts fit better with the Biblical account of divine Creation.

The questions of "Where you come from and where you are going" are foundational to who we are and what gives us meaning in life. If mankind arrived here by chance and accident, then our lives are nothing special and we have no absolute guiding principles on how we should act and live. However, if we were created and fashioned in the image of a God who cared enough to communicate to us through His Word and His Son, we have immense personal worth and a standard for life and morality.

Full acceptance of the Biblical account, however, involves the realization that in the sight of a holy God, we are anything but perfect and our natural tendencies are toward sin rather than righteousness. God says in the Bible, “There is none righteous, no, not one. ...all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God...but God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. ...If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. ...For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 3:10, 3:23, 5:8, 10:9, 10:13 NKJV)
